We believe the most important relationship in our lives is our relationship with God, the creator. ("Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your strength and with all your mind..." Matthew 27:37.) We have learned what people throughout the Bible understood, that musical worship is a God-given way to express our love and commitment to Him. Our desire is not to play and sing songs, but express our love and commitment personally to God.
We believe that when we worship God for who He is, no matter where we find ourselves in life, He draws near to us and connects with us in real ways. This is significant for our journey as followers of Jesus. We feel we really need these times to connect with God, and to allow Him to change us. Because of this value, we devote a good section of our time on Sunday to musical worship.
The worship experience at the Vineyard might not be what you are used to. The worship time features more modern music with a rock feel, with a band playing songs that reflect our love and personal relationship with Jesus, sort of like “singing prayers".People raising hands, kneeling, clapping, or even weeping during the music can be different to some. Yet these and other activities are simply very natural responses to God's presence, and are documented throughout the Bible.
